BlackBerry Developer

The Blackberry Application Developer(s) will work on a team to design and build marketing and business-oriented mobile applications on various mobile devices. The candidate will have extensive experience with systems analysis, and BlackBerry JDE 4.2+ or newer, RIM API. This role reports to the Technology Director.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and test client applications
• Works closely with project managers to understand requirements, and together with server-side colleagues develop optimum network-aware products.
• A firm understanding of the intricacies of mobile data networks is ideal.

Required Skills:

• BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering required (MS degree preferred)
• 4+ years of mobile application programming experience.
• A minimum of 3 years experience developing advanced, applications on mobile devices.
• Experience with Blackberry applications is REQUIRED.
• Experience with: threading, http connections, parsing xml and database querying
• Some experience with MySQL, CSS, HTML, Javascript
• Experiences with Windows Mobile, Android, iPhone, Symbian are desirable.
• Must have broad experience across multiple programming languages on both mobile client and server applications.
• Experience with developing across a wide array of mobile devices. Must understand differences in mobile platform implementation.
• Experience with deploying production mobile applications on major carriers.
• Experience with mobile markup languages such as XHTML/CHTML/WAP is desirable
• Clear written & verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in an environment where ground up development with very few requirements is quite regular.
